Who would manage your affairs if you suffered from illness, accident or a protracted absence? If this happened to you, could your family cope? A Power of Attorney is used to enable someone to handle your affairs if you could not, either on a one off basis or indefinitely if you became incapable of managing your affairs. You choose one or two trustworthy persons to act as your attorney. That person does not have to be a professional but a solicitor from Wright & McMillan Bennett will act if you wish. An Enduring Power of Attorney is a relatively cheap and effective way of arranging your affairs so that there is help for you and your family should you need it in the future. |

A living will, also known as an “advance directive”, is a document which usually takes the form of a written statement setting out in advance what types of medical treatment the maker of the will does or does not desire to receive in specific circumstances should he be incapable of giving or refusing consent. A living will must be signed whilst the maker is mentally competent.
You may wish to be known by a different name or to change the name of your child.
We are able to advise you how this can be achieved and provide you with the evidence of name change you may need e.g. for passport applications.
In most cases we advise on and prepare the necessary documentation for a fixed fee.
